Meet the Staff
Mark Matook, MLIS
Before coming to the NSGL, as Archivist for a major medical network in Rhode Island, Mark created a media-rich database and information system which incorporates highly searcheable metadata, digital image representation, linking descriptive documentation, and properties location tracking to meet the demanding needs of several major departments of the network.as Archivist for a major medical network in Rhode Island. Mark has also worked in a university library to instill strong research practices with university faculty, staff, and students. Mark applies his work in digital media, innovative archival practices, and research instruction to introduce new systems to encourage the active dissemination of the information produced by Sea Grant Programs.
Cynthia Murray, MLIS
Director - On extended leave.
Cynthia has been with the NSGL since 1980 and has
a Bachelor's Degree in Zoology and a Master's Degree in Library
and Information Science. In addition, she has had extensive experience
in the use of bibliographic databases and considerable knowledge
of marine science literature. She is responsible for the administration
of the NSGL and the management of the online publications catalog and website.
Joyce E. Winn
Joyce has been with the NSGL since 1975 and
is certified as a Library Technical Assistant. She is responsible
for processing loan
requests, cataloging new publications, and maintaining the
circulating and archive collections.
